My first novel having just released and the second in early stages, has me reflecting. I ask myself how did I come up with this world full of adventure and deep characters?
This story is a creation I began with my artwork several years ago. Each piece of Cartoon Taxidermy had a story lurking deep in the eyes of the character. Rabbits, giraffes and every animal came alive in my mind with a rich world of more characters than I could hope to sculpt in real time.
When my heroine Violet came forward with her story I knew I had to share her journey through this enchanted world with you. This is the World of Perhaps that I have been exploring with each piece I create. Some of those characters pop in the story and some very special collectors live with them every day.

My day job is as a full-time artist. I have met many amazing people through my little art world. Art has been a lifetime love for me. The working class world I grew up in convinced me I could never make art for money, yet here I am. Skip the typical mental health trope that might fit here.
My second fascination were books. Insert touching family scene of a young aunt walking two girls to the public library for their first library cards. I visit the same library to this day, thank you, simple Midwestern living.
Per typical interests of escape and exploration, I learned to love story. Books taught me things I couldn’t find without money for lessons or trips. Stories helped me escape, books taught me skills, and the shelves in the building taught me I could find whatever I needed to know. I didn’t understand until now that books have given me independence.
I don’t expect you to like my books, but I hope you do.
Happy reading.
